This thought is daunting and seems to run through our veins, leaving us with various doubts and unbelief. We have an enemy who is a master at subtle lies, and these are two of his favorites. I’ve learned that doubt is sure to clog up one’s hope in life, and unbelief will arrest faith and leave devastating results.
Our circumstance, chaos, or condition doesn’t move our Sovereign God.
You see, we find truth in the Word and in the grace Jesus readily makes available.
In John 17 Jesus prays an appeal to the Father to protect us, watch over us, and for us to be immersed in the truth. He prayed this prayer among friends and foes before He left this earth. Most astonishing in this prayer, He asked that we would but be one with the Father just as Jesus himself was, for in this unity it would cause the world to believe. Wow! When our faith and hope are fused with the Father and Son, we become the answer to His prayer and a solution for the world.
We are gaining an understanding of these truths, along with the virtues of mercy. Sequentially we’re able to pray our deepest needs, desires, and apprehensions. In turn, we discover He cares for us in ways beyond our comprehension, yet they are made known to us on earth.
Pursing prayer increasingly revives our pulse, making it one strong current allowing for the glory of God to be known on earth as it is in Heaven.
A Pulse for Prayer
Prayer and praise will preserve the matter of prayer as well as us spiritually.
Unction and urgency: this is a type of prayer when you feel compelled to pray at the moment. A prompt response can prove to be fulfilling.
Listening prayer is a dialogue with our creator. Listen and obey: faith and action.
Sufficiency: we’re enabled for prayer. It’s not of our strength; the sufficiency comes by the power of God that rests upon our supplication.
Eternal: some of our prayers may outlive us, so pray believing for your family and trust the work of the Holy Spirit. Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father ever living to make intercession on your behalf.
